Porch Family,
It’s hard to believe that 2024 is coming to a close, especially considering all we’ve seen God do this year. Whether it was navigating some new change, enduring a season of trial, or experiencing a moment of breakthrough, God graciously met with and moved in the lives of young adults every single Tuesday. To say we’re grateful to be a small part of what God’s doing is to say too little, and to say we’re honored falls too short.
You may or may not know, but Psalm 27:4 lies at the heart of our mission at The Porch. It reads: “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.”
At the core of who we are is the desire to call young adults to see Jesus and surrender fully to life with Him, because we’re convinced none is as beautiful to see and wonderful to seek as Him. We often say that Jesus is worthy of wanting, and by God’s grace, we’ve increasingly seen people awakened to this reality week after week this year.
I’m convinced our generation is both brimming with potential and burning with a passion only Jesus can satisfy and this last year we’ve seen people discover that for themselves. For this reason, my heart is filled with anticipation of what God might do in 2025. There’s a fresh hunger for more of God at The Porch, and where more of God is wanted, more of God is found!
To those of you who’ve been part of our journey in 2024, I say: Keep seeking Christ. There is more beauty to behold, more delight to discover, and more power in His presence than you know. Seek after Him, and with Him find everything good there is to be found.
To those of you who may have fallen off in 2024, I say: It’s never too late! Jesus pursued us when we didn’t know to pursue Him ourselves, and He’s pursuing you right now. The year behind may have been harder than you hoped, but the year ahead can be better than you believe. So go for it! Take a step of faith and see just how much more Jesus has for you.
And to all of you joining us in 2025, I say: Jesus is just getting started. We’ve only seen the beginning of what God wants to do in the lives of young adults, and that includes yours. So, let’s believe that God wants to move more in our lives — He wants to move in our cities and He wants to move in our generation. He is a God that comes wherever He’s wanted, so let’s want Him together in the new year.
See you on January 21!
