By the Watermark Community Team
If you are looking for a comfortable place to connect with others and find out more about why we talk so much about community at Watermark, we would love for you to join us on an upcoming Tuesday evening after the Porch for Open Community Group!
You may have heard Open Community Group mentioned at The Porch, and wondered what it was. It is:
A place to learn more about community groups at Watermark, and get information on how to get started in a community group.
A place to meet and relationally connect with peers and new friends of the same gender after The Porch.
A safe environment to share about what is currently going on in your life or in your walk with the Lord, and to hear about others’ lives.
We like to say that Open Community Group is a lot like the free samples that you get as you walk down the aisles of Sam’s Club or Whole Foods on a Saturday afternoon—it’s just a taste, a small tease if you will, of the real thing. Open Community Group is a small 45-60 minute sample of what living in authentic biblical community is like.
Living in community involves doing life with one another (Acts 2:42), encouraging one another daily (Hebrews 3:13), spurring one another on towards love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24), loving one another (Romans 12:9-10), putting others’ interests before our own (Philippians 2:4), and so many other great things!
Realistically, we can’t really cover 100% of that in the short time that we spend in Open Community Group each week. But our hope is to provide a small taste of how the Lord has sweetly designed us to live life with other believers, who will encourage us in our walks with God as we pursue becoming more fully devoted followers of Christ.
So, regardless of whether you are brand new to The Porch or have been around for years, come join us at Open Community Group! You can get connected and learn more about what living life with a community of believers looks like. We meet in the North and South Community Rooms right outside the Worship Center on Tuesday nights, immediately following The Porch. We would absolutely love to have you!
