Materialism

Of the celebrated sins, this is possibly the one most relevant to Dallas. Materialism corrupts our doctrine, our contentment, and our desires. In 1 Timothy 6 we read that we are to pursue God and the things of God above all other things. These are eternal investments with eternal rewards, and are infinitely better than the things of this world. We are to desire eternal things and invest in eternal things, and through Christ we find freedom from materialism.
